For many agreements, it must be on Stamp Paper of the correct value as per the Stamp Act, 1899.

A written legal agreement is a documented contract that outlines the specific terms, rights, and obligations of two or more parties. Under Pakistan’s Contract Act, 1872, its primary purpose is to create a legally enforceable record that can be used as evidence in court.

What makes an agreement form valid?

Under Section 10 of the Contract Act, 1872, an agreement is valid and legally enforceable if it is made by the:
Free Consent of parties
Competent to contract (legal age, sound mind)
For a Lawful Consideration
With a Lawful Object
And is not expressly declared to be void.

How long is an agreement valid?

An agreement is valid for the period specified in its “term” clause. If no duration is stated, it remains valid until its purpose is fulfilled or it is terminated. An agreement can be terminated by mutual consent, by fulfilling the obligations, by a breach of contract, or by impossibility of performance.

How to make an official agreement?

To make an official agreement in Pakistan:
Negotiate and Finalise Terms: Clearly agree on all conditions.
Draft in Writing: Put the agreement in writing for clarity and proof.
Use Stamp Paper: The agreement must be printed on Stamp Paper of the appropriate value according to the Stamp Act, 1899.
Sign: All parties and witnesses must sign the document.
